Privacy policy

This page explains what personal information Free Stampede Pancakes collects, what we do with it, and how to contact us about it. It applies to our website and to our iOS and Android apps.
What we collect
- Event submissions. When you submit a pancake breakfast event, we collect the organizer name, email address, phone number, and the event details. The event details are shown publicly once approved. Your contact details are not shown publicly — we only use them to follow up if we have a question about your event.
- Reminder requests. If you ask the site to remind you about an event, we store your email address with the event so we can email you the reminder.
- Contact form messages. If you send a message via the contact form, we keep your name, email, and message so we can reply.
- Server logs. Our web server keeps standard request logs (IP address, page URL, timestamp, user agent) for security and troubleshooting. These are not used to identify individuals.
Cookies
The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work (for example, the anti-forgery cookie that protects forms from cross-site request forgery). We also use cookies set by third-party services for analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense). See the list below for details and links to those providers' own policies.
Third-party services
- OpenStreetMap. The map view loads tiles from OpenStreetMap. When the map loads, your browser makes requests directly to OpenStreetMap. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
- Google Maps. The "Directions" links on event listings open Google Maps. Google's own privacy policy applies when you follow those links.
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. It sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, and device or browser information. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data.
- Google AdSense. We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. You can review and adjust your ad settings at Google My Ad Center; Google's use of advertising data is described in Google's advertising policy.
- Brevo. We use Brevo to send transactional emails (event confirmations, reminder emails, and contact-form notifications). Email addresses you provide are processed by Brevo to deliver those messages. See the Brevo privacy policy.
Mobile apps (iOS and Android)
- Your location stays on your device. When you search by distance, the app downloads the event list and then sorts and filters it by distance entirely on your device. Your location (latitude and longitude) is never sent to our servers or to any third party.
- Google AdMob. The apps show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use a device advertising identifier and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. You can reset or limit this identifier in your device settings (on iOS under Privacy & Security, on Android under Google › Ads). Google's use of advertising data is described in Google's advertising policy.
How we share information
We don't sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share it only if required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do.
